Iran has yet to retaliate for the alleged Israeli assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

This lack of immediate retaliation has raised eyebrows across the international community, given Iran’s swift retribution in April following the death of IRGC commander Mohammad Reza Zahedi. During that attack, Iran launched 400 missiles at the Jewish State with nearly 99% intercepted by Israel and her allies.

According to Kuwait’s Al-Jarida newspaper, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has agreed to postpone any attack on Israel at the urgining of President Masoud Pezeshkian. The report suggests that Pezeshkian successfully convinced Khamenei to delay the response by at least two weeks to coincide with the process of approving Iran’s new government by the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

Purportedly, Pezeshkian aims to use this delay to allow the US more time to advance ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel. If a ceasefire agreement is made during this time, that should satisfy Khamenei’s desire to seek revenge.

The United States also allegedly played a role in Khamenei’s decision to back down. Sources close to the matter revealed that a direct hotline has been opened between the White House and Tehran. During conversations between the two countries, the US urged Iran to delay any retaliatory strikes. In exchange, proposed defense mechanisms have been offered to the tyrannical regime.

As diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes, Israel and its partners are mobilizing their defenses. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether Iran’s self-control can lead to a more stable situation in the Middle East or if it’s merely a guise before it launches a war against the world.”
