Another shocking report has revealed a catastrophic intelligence failure preceding Hamas’ massacre against southern Israel on October 7.
According to Channel 12 News, a probe by Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate found that planning for the unprecedented attack began an astonishing seven to eight years ago. Despite this lengthy preparation, Israel’s intelligence community failed to detect the warning signs, instead adhering to a dangerously misguided concept of Hamas’ intentions.
Join the JBN+ WhatsApp GroupIsrael had mistakenly assumed that notorious Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar didn’t want to start a war with Israel in order to improve the economic situation in Gaza. Sinwar’s lack of participation in two prior skirmishes between Hamas and Israel led Military Intelligence away from reports that he was gathering resources to launch a massive attack.
Perhaps most alarmingly, the Directorate confessed uncertainty about preventing future terror attacks of this magnitude.
Unfortunately, this is not the first report suggesting Israel could have prevented the worst butchery of Jews since the Holocaust.
IDF observers reportedly witnessed a large-scale Hamas military drill on October 3 simulating the very rocket strikes and infiltration raids that would ultimately devastate Israeli civilians and take hostages four days later. However, these ominous training exercises involving some 170 terrorists were simply waved off by security sources as “just any other exercise” routinely conducted by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Other reports discovered that a female sergeant from the IDF’s elite Unit 8200 sent an urgent email to several of her superiors, remarking how Hamas’ training exercises were mirror images of Hamas’ “Jericho Wall” plan obtained by IDF intelligence a year prior to October 7.
The “Jericho Wall” is a detailed 40-page playbook detailing Hamas’ strategy to decimate Gaza’s defense network. It calls for a barrage of rockets at the outset of an attack, drones to knock out security cameras, and gunmen to pour into Israel en masse via paragliders, motorcycles, and on foot.
