A deadly terrorist attack at the Be’er Sheva Central Bus Station on Sunday afternoon has left one killed and several others wounded. Initial reports suggest that the assailant, wearing a bulletproof vest, opened fire at multiple locations including a McDonald’s restaurant.

Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services initially responded to reports of eight casualties, but later revised the count to 11. Tragically, a woman in her twenties succumbed to her injuries at the scene despite immediate medical attention. The remaining victims, mostly young adults, are being treated for injuries ranging from moderate to serious, with some suffering gunshot wounds and others injured by shattered glass.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMTs are also on scene, providing crucial on-site treatment to the most severely injured before their transfer to hospital. They are offering support to those experiencing emotional distress in the wake of the attack.

With the anniversary of the October 7 massacre less than 24 hours away, Israeli security personnel are on high alert. Today’s deadly shooting follows closely on the heels of another recent terror attack in Jaffa, where seven people lost their lives and 16 were wounded at a light rail station.
