Former child star Haley Joel Osment has issued a groveling apology after police bodycam footage revealed him using an antisemitic slur during his recent arrest at a California ski resort.

The 37-year-old “Sixth Sense” actor was detained Tuesday at Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes on charges of public intoxication and cocaine possession. Footage obtained by the New York Post captured Osment calling an officer a “f***ing Nazi” before using an antisemitic slur once inside the patrol car.

“I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner,” Osment told People magazine. “The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place.”

Osment recently lost his home in devastating Los Angeles wildfires and has reportedly struggled to secure an insurance payout, though he acknowledged this doesn’t excuse his behavior.

“That’s no excuse for using this disgusting word,” he said. “From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts. What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage — I’ve let the Jewish community down and it devastates me. I don’t ask for anyone’s forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake.”

The Mono County District Attorney’s office has charged Osment with misdemeanors, and he’s scheduled for arraignment on July 7. This isn’t Osment’s first run-in with the law either. In 2006, he was arrested after crashing his car into a brick pillar, which flipped the vehicle and left him with a broken rib and injured shoulder. He later pleaded no contest to driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana possession, resulting in 60 hours of alcohol rehabilitation, six months of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and a $1,500 fine.
