A stabbing attack in Judea and Samaria on Thursday has left an Israeli soldier injured.
As per the IDF, the non-commissioned officer slowed down and opened the window of his vehicle after seeing an Arab gesturing to him with his hand at the Yitzhar junction. The attacker then stabbed the soldier and fled the scene.
Despite his injuries, the soldier managed to reach a nearby military position, where he informed his superiors about the incident. He was subsequently taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikva, where his condition was later downgraded to lightly wounded after receiving initial medical treatment.
In response, the IDF launched a manhunt for the terrorist and blocked roads in the area. Approximately three hours after the incident, a suspect was apprehended in the Arab town of Awarta, not far from the site of the attack.
Arutz Sheva reports that Arab social media groups have been celebrating the attack and calling for others to imitate the assailant. A message that has gone viral on Telegram depicts a man with a kefiyyeh and a knife approaching a man in haredi garb, with a caption reading, “Stab and plunge your knife into their skulls.”
