(New Orleans, LA) In a commanding performance at Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles secured their second Vince Lombardi Trophy by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. This victory not only marked the Eagles’ second Super Bowl title but also thwarted the Chiefs’ bid for an unprecedented three-peat.

Game Highlights

The Eagles dominated from the outset, establishing a 24-0 lead by halftime. Quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered an MVP-worthy performance, completing 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown. The defense was equally formidable, sacking Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes six times and forcing two interceptions. Notably, cornerback Cooper DeJean celebrated his 22nd birthday with a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown. 

Jewish Contributions to the Eagles’ Success

The Eagles’ triumph is also a testament to the leadership of their Jewish owner, Jeffrey Lurie. A Boston native and Brandeis University alumnus, Lurie purchased the team in 1994 and has been instrumental in its ascent to NFL prominence.
