Beersheva was targeted again on Saturday night after a Hamas rocket hit a home in the city.
As per Arutz Sheva, three Israelis were lightly injured in the attack and immediately transported to Barzilai Hospital for medical treatment. The attack came merely a day after Hamas launched 14 rockets towards the city, marking the first such assault on Beersheva’s residents in over six months. While the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted the majority of the incoming projectiles, one rocket directly struck a playground, and another hit a residential home, resulting in a woman sustaining minor shrapnel wounds from the blast.
In the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, IDF troops continued to engage Hamas terrorists in fierce combat on Saturday night, resulting in the elimination of a large number of Hamas operatives. Among those killed was a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist involved in the October 7 massacre on southern Israel.
“We are now operating once again in Jabaliya. As long as there’s no diplomatic process to develop a governing body in the Strip that isn’t Hamas, we’ll have to launch campaigns again and again in other places to dismantle Hamas’s infrastructure,” IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said in a Friday statement.
During raids in Zeitoun, IDF forces also uncovered weapons caches hidden in school classrooms, as well as a tunnel running beneath the educational facility. Further weaponry was discovered secreted in a local medical clinic, underscoring the extent to which Hamas has embedded its terror infrastructure within civilian populations.
