In heartbreaking photos shared with permission, Diana and Debra are seen baking challah for Shabbat just a day before the tragedy, and 4-year-old Pinchas Raphael Ben Sarah, now in critical condition, is seen proudly holding his Haggadah from that same day.

The fatal crash occurred on Ocean Parkway in Midwood as the family walked home from synagogue. Natasha and her daughters were killed instantly. Pinchas underwent emergency surgery and remains in intensive care. Nine people were injured in total.

On Sunday, authorities arrested Miriam Yarimi, 32, who now faces multiple charges, including manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, reckless driving, assault, aggravated unlicensed operation, and several traffic violations. Officials confirmed Yarimi was driving with a suspended license at the time.

Witnesses described a horrific scene after Yarimi’s vehicle collided with another car, flipped, and struck the Saada family on the sidewalk. The crash has devastated the tight-knit Jewish community and reignited demands for stricter traffic safety enforcement.

Mayor Eric Adams called it “a tragedy of Shakespearean proportion,” adding, “A mother going for a simple stroll on a sunny day was struck and killed. The city mourns with this community.”

Natasha is survived by her husband Sidney Saada, sons Philip and Jacob, her parents Jack and Shahin Assil, and siblings Anoshka, David, and Sammy Assil.

The community is asked to say Tehillim for Pinchas Raphael Ben Sarah.

May their memories be a blessing, and may their family know no more sorrow.

Stricter traffic safety enforcement is not the answer here and would not have stopped this maniac. They have to make metal Pillers so vehicles can’t get onto the walkway.
May their neshomos have an Aliyah. I daven for the father and remaining children that they should stay strong mentally.

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a very good job with this. Also, the blog loads super quick for me on Chrome. Superb Blog!
