The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have revealed a disturbing video of 8-year-old Ella Elyakim, who was abducted from her father’s home in Nahal Oz during the brutal October 7 massacre carried out by Hamas.

In the heart-wrenching video, Ella is seen in front of the flag of Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades while pleading for someone to free her from captivity.

“I’m Ella Elyakim, the daughter of Noam, and I’m eight years old. And I ask that someone frees us from Hamas captivity,” she says.

In response, IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari condemned Hamas’ propaganda tactics, stating that the video was intended to be used for “psychological terror” and that Ella’s family had requested its release to expose the true face of Hamas to the world. He also revealed the harrowing details of Ella’s ordeal, disclosing that the young girl was forced to read from a script, change her clothes, and re-film the terrifying scene repeatedly by her Hamas captors.

“Our hearts go out to Ella, her family, and all the hostage families. Please help us respect the wishes of Ella’s family by sharing this video far and wide. We will continue doing everything in our power to bring our hostages back home,” Hagari said.

The IDF also released on Sunday a photo of Ella with her 15-year-old sister, Dafna, who was abducted alongside her. The two girls were eventually released in a hostage deal in November after enduring weeks of torment in Gaza.
