Former President Donald Trump’s decision to honor fallen American heroes has been causing viral outrage.

The “controversy” began on Tuesday after Trump participated in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony marking the third anniversary of the catastrophic Kabul airport terrorist attack. This horrendous assault claimed the lives of thirteen brave American soldiers.

Although Trump was invited by families to attend, his presence caused swift backlash. GOP Steve Schmidt accused Trump of “desecrating hallowed ground” while Esquire’s Charles P. Pierce labeled the somber event a mere “campaign prop.”

In a statement, Arlington claimed that Trump was afforded the same rights as other unofficial Gold Star visitors. However that hasn’t stopped social media from erupting with calls for cemetery director Karen Durham-Aguilera to resign immediately.

“How dare you let that creep Trump do what he did yesterday. You must like our service men and women being called suckers and losers! You are really a low class person. You need to resign. Shame on you!” one user wrote on X.

What do you care about women’s equality when you are letting a felon, sexual assaulter, draft dodger use those hallowed grounds of our deceased service members for a campaign publicity stunt. Heads should roll for whoever approved that. Disgraceful,” another commented.

Interestingly, while Trump paid his respects, President Joe Biden was conspicuously absent from the event choosing instead to stay at his Delaware beach house for the weekend.
