UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer turned his back on Israel yesterday by hosting Palestinian Authority leader Mohammad Mustafa and pledging “steadfast support” alongside a £101 million aid package.

“It’s a real pleasure to have you here for really important discussions with the extremely challenging position not only in Gaza but also in the West Bank,” Starmer told Mustafa during their meeting at 10 Downing Street. “Deeply, deeply concerning, I think, to the whole world, and amongst the things we need to discuss is how we make sure that we can get back to a ceasefire as quickly as possible, get humanitarian aid in at speed and at volume – desperately needed.”

Starmer also criticized Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria, describing “unlawful settlement and violence” as “of deep concern.”

After their meeting, Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Mustafa signed a memorandum pledging British support for a two-state solution, coupled with a £101 million funding package for the Palestinian Authority. According to a readout from Downing Street, the generous British aid package includes funding for “humanitarian relief, Palestinian economic development and strengthening governance and reform.”

“The UK is clear that there can be no role for Hamas in the future of Gaza and we are committed to working with the Palestinian Authority as the only legitimate governing entity in the occupied Palestinian territories,” Lammy stated. “We will not give up on the two-state solution, with a Palestinian state and Israel living side-by-side in peace, dignity and security.”

Britain hasn’t officially received Palestinian Authority leadership since 2021, making this diplomatic overture particularly concerning for Israel’s supporters as the Jewish state continues fighting terrorists who benefit from international legitimization.

Starmer ensuring he has the support of the Muslim vote in his country. GB has a radical Islam problem, as does Europe. What weak leaders! Their problems are coming.

I live in UK, and totally support Israel. I hate what I am seeing here! I, and many other followers of the Way, Yeshua haMashiach, here in the UK, continue to pray for the leadership. I remind the Lord of His Word concerning a country’s leadership, whether king or prime minister or president. Proverbs 21 states that the king’s heart is like a stream of water in the hand of the LORD, directing it wherever He pleases.
In 1 Timothy 2:1-2 KJV, Paul says
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
We will continue to pray and may our voices be heard.
