0 commentsThe U.N. General Assembly passed a Palestinian-drafted resolution calling for Israel to withdraw from Jerusalem’s Old City, Judea, Samaria, and Gaza within 12 months.
The resolution, passed 124-14 with 43 abstentions, follows a July opinion by the International Court of Justice deeming Israeli presence beyond the 1949 armistice line illegal. It also calls for an arms embargo and a boycott of products from those areas. Although non-binding, the resolution is expected to influence international actions. Israel and 13 other countries opposed the resolution, while several key nations abstained..

Danon added that the General Assembly “continues to dance to the music of the Palestinian Authority, which backs the Hamas murderers.”
In addition, before the vote took place, the U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres said that he would back the implementation of the resolution should it pass.
