Qatar has become the second Muslim-majority country, after Brunei, to join the U.S. Visa Waiver Program, allowing its citizens to travel to the U.S. without a visa. The Departments of State and Homeland Security praised Qatar’s eligibility, citing low visa refusal and overstay rates.

However, this decision raises eyebrows, as Qatar has long hosted leaders from Hamas and the Taliban, yet now enjoys privileges typically reserved for longstanding U.S. allies.
