Hollywood heavyweights Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie are on opposite sides of the Israel-Hamas war, with the 85-year-old blasting his daughter for criticizing the Jewish state.

In a scorching interview with Variety on Tuesday, the Oscar winner for ‘Coming Home’ took direct aim at Jolie for demanding a ceasefire right after Hamas launched its massacre against Israel on October 7. At the time, Jolie told her millions of Instagram followers that she was “sick and angry” over the violence but argued it couldn’t justify the innocent lives lost in Gaza.

“She has been exposed to propaganda,” Voight tells Variety. “She’s been influenced by antisemitic people. Angie has a connection to the UN, and she’s enjoyed speaking out for refugees. But these people are not refugees.”

“I’m very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God’s honor, God’s truths. This is justice for God’s children of the Holy Land.”

Voight also claimed his daughter is sadly uniformed because Hollywood lives in a vacuum.

“Angie, I think she hasn’t been available to this information because in Hollywood people don’t share this kind of stuff. They have no idea what’s going on. It’s a bubble,” he said.

“I love my daughter. I don’t want to fight with my daughter. But the fact is, I think she has been influenced by the UN From the beginning, it’s been awful with human rights. They call it human rights, but it’s just anti-Israel bashing.”

The relationship between the two Hollywood stars is long and tumultuous. In 2002, Voight claimed he and Jolie were estranged and that she has “serious mental problems.” By the time they reconciled in 2017, the 49-year-old actress told The Hollywood Reporter that they have found common ground over art.

“Jon and I have gotten to know each other through grandchildren now, and we’re finding a new relationship,” Jolie said. “We don’t really talk politics well; we talk art very well as it’s the common language.”
