FAKE NEWS: The AP Confuses Parkland Families ‘Sitting Shiva’ With ‘Sit and Shiver’

In an story about the deadly Florida school shooting in Parkland, Florida, the Associated Press misqouted Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel had described paying condolence calls the families of the victims.

“I’ve been to their homes where they sit and shiver,” the AP quoted Sheriff Israel as saying.

But what the sheriff actually said was “I’ve been to their homes where they’re sitting shiva.”

Seventeen people, including 7 Jews, were killed on Feb. 14 when, Nikolas Cruz, a crazed gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
