London’s Hyde Park Holocaust Memorial Garden was covered with a tarp and guarded by police on Saturday as anti-Israel protesters marched through the city on Saturday.

As per the Telegraph, thousands of pro-Hamas demonstrators carried signs and chanted antisemitic slogans, such as “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” One sign accused the Israeli military of stealing organs from Arabs, while others alleged that Zionists control the British government and media.

A counter-protest was organized near Piccadilly by the pro-Israel Enough is Enough group, which has been critical of the Metropolitan Police’s recent handling of the antisemitic protests. Police reportedly arrested two men from the main demonstration – one for carrying a placard with a swastika in Parliament Square and another for shouting a racist remark towards those in the counter-protest.

One Pro-Israel supporter, Hayley Ace, told the Telegraph that she was targeted by a masked protester who told her to “go back to Poland.” She stated, “Comments like those that I received are common on these marches. How can anyone pretend they are peaceful?”

Yad Vashem, Israel’s national Holocaust Museum, responded to the shameful covering of London’s Holocaust memorial on X.

“YV is worried by reports of Holocaust memorials being concealed out of fear from antisemitic attacks. These monuments are constant reminders of past horrors. We must address the root problems of antisemitism today & ensure that the victims’ voices are never silenced.”
