US Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is hailing the Biden administration’s new policy of leveraging weaponry for Israeli obedience.
“Given the unprecedented humanitarian disaster that (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu’s war has created in Gaza, where hundreds of thousands of children face starvation, President Biden is absolutely right to halt bomb delivery to this extreme, right-wing Israeli government,” Sanders said in a statement on Wednesday.
Fellow Jewish Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) issued a similar show of support during an interview with the Hill, stating, “I believe that Israel and America have an ironclad relationship, and I have faith in what the Biden administration is doing.”
Both remarks came after President Biden threatened to stop sending weapons to Israel out of concern about their potential use in Rafah. An already delayed shipment reportedly included 1,800 bombs of 2,000 pounds and 1,700 bombs of 500 pounds.
Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Wednesday that the White House has been “very clear from the very beginning” that Israel should not launch a major attack in Rafah without presenting to the US for its approval a humanitarian plan to protect all 1.5 million Rafah civilians Hamas is using as human shields.
“As we have assessed the situation, we pause one shipment of high payload munitions,” he said. “We certainly would like to see no major combat take place in Rafah.”
Bernie Sanders and Chuck Schumer are no better than the Jewish converts in the middle ages who helped murder their former co-religionists. They have both lost sight of what took place on October 7th. Bernie is a self-hating Jew. Schumer is certainly a hypocrite. He holds himself out as a defender of the Jewish people. He seems only to be interested in how the wind blows for his reelection before taking a position.
