President Trump on Tuesday officially announced that he was running for re-election in 2020 and named Brad Parscale, a former web designer, as his campaign manager for the 2020 re-election bid.

Parscale worked on Trump’s 2016 campaign as its digital director. In early 2015, Parscale was hired to create a website for President Donald Trump’s exploratory campaign, charging only $1,500 for the site. Through the entire election cycle, Parscale was paid $94 million by the Trump campaign. The funds mainly went to social media advertising for the campaign.

The Drudge Report called Parscale’s appointment a “bold move” and said it was the earliest any president had named a campaign manager for his re-election bid. Trump’s decision comes 980 days before the 2020
