Democrats took their ‘resistance’ to President Trump recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel as they refused to stand or even applaud during his State of the Union address to acknowledge a pledge that the majority of Democrats in past have agreed to.
Many pundits pointed out the striking response to not only the Jerusalem statement but to other non-controversial items that usually have bipartisan agreement in America.
What Democrats didn’t applaud for:
– low black unemployment
– bonuses for employees
– 2.4 million jobs created
– American flag
– In God we Trust
– National anthem
– fully secured border
– merit based immigration
– Fighting opioid abuse

Two Democrats did applaud Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem in the address, including West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin and New York’s Senator Chuck Schumer.
“Democrats are no longer just the party of resistance and obstruction, they are now also the party of sitting on their hands,” said the Republican National Committee. “No matter the issue, Democrats chose to sit on their hands tonight.”
Many of the female Democratic members of Congress wore black in protest while First lady Melania Trump and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley wore white outfits.
