Approximately 350 missiles with a payload of 60 tons of explosives were fired at Israel by its adversary Iran on Saturday, according to the Israeli military.

In a statement on Sunday, IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari reported that a coalition of international allies, led by the United States and including Great Britain and France, successfully intercepted 99% of the attacks.

“Iran’s unprecedented attack was met with an unprecedented defense. This was the first time that such a coalition worked together against the threat of Iran and its proxies in the Middle East,” Hagari said.

Iran and its proxies from Iraq, Yemen, and Lebanon shot an arsenal of weapons at Israel on Saturday night that included suicide drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. In the onslaught that lasted five hours, only a military base suffered minor damage, and a seven-year-old Bedouin girl was injured.

Turning his attention to the war in Gaza, Hagari stressed that Israel remains committed to its mission of rescuing 133 hostages held by Hamas. He confirmed that a recent proposal for the hostages release was rejected by the terror group.

“We have not lost sight—not for one moment—of our critical mission in Gaza to rescue our hostages from the hands of Iran’s-proxy Hamas,” he said.

Hagari confirmed that Israel is maintaining its “high alert status” and plans have been “approved for both offensive and defensive actions” to protect its national security interests.
