The US House of Representatives passed a resolution with a vote of 377 to 44 condemning the antisemitic chant “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.”

As per Fox News, the resolution which calls for a formal condemnation of the antiemetic chant, is part of a list of 17 measures House GOP leaders are reportedly putting up for a vote to show support for Israel following a barrage of Iranian miles over the weekend. As has been the case with most issues Israeli-oriented bills in the House, “Squad” Democrats voted against it, including Representatives Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free”  is a rallying cry for terrorist organizations and their supporters, from Hamas to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). It calls for the establishment of a State of Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, hence erasing the Jewish State and its people.

Tragically, the slogan gained more prominence after the deadly Hamas invasion of southern Israel on October 7, where over 1,200 people were killed and more than 240 hostages were taken, marking the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. The phrase has also become popular among pro-Arab student activists on college campuses.
