The IDF has confirmed the death of Uriel Baruch, one of the hostages kidnapped on October 7.

Baruch went to the Supernova music festival in the Negev on Oct. 7 with his friend Michel Yoav, who was murdered by Hamas terrorists, along with about 360 other people. The 25-year-old was last seen by his family in a video posted on social media showing Baruch’s car with Yoav dead inside and Baruch on the ground looking for a way to escape.

The family was notified afterwards by the IDF that Baruch had been taken hostage into Gaza along with over 240 others.

Baruch is survived by his wife Rachel and their two children.

“Uriel Baruch, of blessed memory, was a joyful person who loved life. He worked in construction and loved techno music. Uriel was always surrounded by friends, most of whom called him by the affectionate nickname ‘Badalu,’” the Hostages and Missing Families Forum said in a statement.

It is believed that 130 hostages remain in Gaza, with 34 confirmed by the IDF to be dead.
