Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher are divorcing after 14 years of marriage.
“In 2023, we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy and have been quietly working through this change. We will forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy,” a joint statement on Instagram by the couple read on Friday.
The two actors reportedly met at a party in Sydney, Australia, in 2002 and got engaged in 2004. Fisher converted to Judaism before marrying Cohen in 2010, and they have three children together.
Sacha Baron Cohen, a Jewish comedian, has been outspoken about the dangers of antisemitism and the spread of hate speech on social media platforms.
In a celebrity-filled meeting with TikTok executives following the Oct. 7 Hamas massacre, Cohen accused the China-based video sharing platform as the “biggest antisemitic movement since the Nazis.” In a keynote address for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in 2019, the “Borat” star blasted Facebook as the “greatest propaganda machine in history” and criticized major tech companies for allowing hate speech to proliferate on their platforms.
