An IDF soldier is in serious condition following a shooting attack Sunday morning in Judea and Samaria.

Initial reports suggest that the 19-year-old soldier was on Route 55 between the Arab towns of Azzun and Nabi Ilyas when a terrorist opened fire at her bus and other nearby vehicles. A man riding in a private vehicle was moderately injured in the attack. Both victims are being treated at nearby hospitals.

Magen David Adom first responder Assaf Ilkashi told Artuz Sheva what it was like entering the bullet-ridden bus.

“A lot of us arrived at the scene. We entered the bus and saw the young woman sitting there, fully conscious and suffering from a gunshot wound in the shoulder. We gave her life-saving medical treatment and evacuated her in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital while she was fully conscious and in serious condition,” he said.

IDF, troops are currently blocking the entrance to Nabi Ilyas, and surveillance aircraft have been dispatched to pursue the terrorist who fled the scene.

This latest terror attack comes a mere days after four Israeli police officers were injured in a car-ramming attack at a checkpoint just north of Tel Aviv. The terrorist was later confronted at the Eliyahu Crossing, which divides Israel and Judea & Samaria. There, he attempted to stab security personnel but was swiftly eliminated.
