A Knesset subcommittee recently listened on Tuesday to accounts from survivors of the Nova music festival massacre as part of legislative efforts to better address the increasing mental health challenges these survivors face, reports Arutz Sheva.

According to survivor Guy Ben Shimon, nearly 50 survivors of the Nova massacre on Oct. 7 have committed suicide, and many others have been forcibly admitted to psychiatric wards.

There are nearly 50 suicides among the Nova survivors – that is a number from two months ago. There are many more who are forcibly admitted,” he said, as quoted by Arutz Sheva.

Na’ama Eitan, who also survived the deadly Hamas attack, described how she doesn’t feel safe going out alone anymore.

“The average number of hours I sleep each night is two,” Eitan said. “I spent seven hours under a tree while terrorists passed beside me, and I called the police and asked, ‘Where are you? Why is no one coming?’ If there is quiet around me, my head is noisy, and I go back there. I need someone to accompany me at all times.”

The Nova music festival in Gaza was part of a larger surprise attack on southern Israel by the terror group Hamas, resulting in one of the deadliest assaults on Israeli civilians in recent history. The festival, which featured trance music and was attended by thousands, was tragically targeted, leading to the deaths of 364 people, including many injuries and hostages taken back to Gaza.
