Celebrities graced the red carpet in Santa Monica, California last night for the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, celebrating the year’s top films, TV shows, and music chosen by the American public.

Among them was Israeli singer and 2023 Eurovision star Noa Kirel, famous for ‘Unicorn,’ who wore an outfit by Israeli designer Gilad Krashin. Her outfit featured a black leather trench coat adorned with a large yellow ribbon, symbolizing solidarity with the 134 hostages still held in Hamas captivity.

Despite still mourning the loss of her first cousin, Sgt. First Class Ori Yaish, who was killed in Friday’s terror attack in Israel at the Re’em junction, an emotional Kirel said she had to attend the event to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis in Israel.

This is not the first-time yellow ribbons were used during awards season as a sign of support for the hostages still being held in captivity by Hamas. They were first seen at this year’s Golden Globes, where ‘Succession’s’ J. Smith-Cameron and ‘American Fiction’s’ John Ortiz wore them with pride. At the Grammys earlier this month, Montana Tucker draw all eyes to her cause by donning a nude corset dress adorned with a large yellow ribbon on the front, which bore the impactful message, “Bring Them Home.”
