In response to Iran’s recent assault on Israel, the US House of Representatives has cleared its schedule to focus on how best to support Israel, a major ally in the Middle East.

Speaking to Fox News on Saturday, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise Scalise (R-La.) said the legislation being considered is a new aid package for Israel and resolutions to condemn Iran for its brutal attacks. However, it remains unclear if the bill will solely benefit Israel, or if House Republicans will draft a broader foreign aid bill that includes Ukraine and Taiwan.

A $95 billion foreign aid bill passed the Senate in February, including $14 billion for Israel, $60 billion for Ukraine, support for Taiwan, and billions of dollars in humanitarian aid to all three regions.

“In light of Iran’s unjustified attack on Israel, the House will move from its previously announced legislative schedule next week to instead consider legislation that supports our ally Israel and holds Iran and its terrorist proxies accountable,” Scalise said.

The House stands strongly with Israel, and there must be consequences for this unprovoked attack,” he said.

In light of Israel’s heavy dependence on foreign military aid and with regional tensions at an all-time high, the Jewish State has been focusing on increasing its domestic ammunition manufacturing. The Israel Defense Ministry announced in February that it is coordinating with local defense companies to expand production lines and secure long-term ammunition for the Israel Defense Forces.
