Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing coalition may face collapse if a ceasefire agreement is made with Hamas instead of destroying the terror group’s last remaining battalions in Rafah.

In a scathing post on X, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared on Monday that his Religious Zionist Party would abandon the ruling government if Netanyahu makes the wrong decision.

“Agreeing to the Egyptian deal is a humiliating surrender and existential danger. This deal grants victory to the Nazis despite the sacrifice of the hundreds of heroic IDF soldiers who fell in battle” Smotrich said. “It imposes a death sentence on the hostages who are not included in the deal, and above all – it poses an immediate existential danger to the State of Israel.”

“If you decide to wave a white flag and retract the order to immediately enter Rafah and not return all our abducted brothers and sisters to their homes, your government will have no right to exist,” he said.

Similarly, right-wing Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir also warned Netanyahu on X, stating that a “reckless deal equals the dissolution of the government.”

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is visiting the Middle East region to discuss a comprehensive plan for Gaza to help ease ceasefire negotiations. The Washington Post reports that Blinken hopes to propose the foundation for an Arab coalition to stabilize Gaza, outline a roadmap leading to the establishment of a Palestinian state, and foster diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
