The Prince of Wales recently met with Jewish students and 94-year-old Holocaust survivor Renee Salt to address the concerning rise of antisemitism in the UK.

During his visit to Western Marble Arch Synagogue, Prince William listened to Salt’s experiences of the Holocaust and heard from young people on how antisemitism has impacted them and the measures they are taking to fight it.

“Well, you’ve heard it from me; antisemitism has no place in society. You’ve heard that from me, OK? I’ve said that before, and I’ll say it again.“ Prince William spoke.

“And hearing all… your lived experiences, both Catherine and I are extremely concerned about the rise in antisemitism that you guys have talked about so eloquently this morning, and I’m just so sorry you’ve had to experience that; it has no place and it shouldn’t happen.

“So that’s why I’m here today to reassure you all that people do care, people do listen, and we can’t let that keep going,” he added.

Ms. Salt wished good wishes to Princess Kate, who was not in attendance because, unbeknownst to the public at the time, she was undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

“I‘m sure if your wife had been well, she would have been here. I miss her so much. I really do. Give her my best wishes, please,” she said.

Since Hamas’s attack on Israel on Oct. 7, antisemitism in the UK has seen a 589% increase in the number of incidents compared with the same period last year, according to a recent study by the Community Security Trust (CST).
