A stabbing attack in Jerusalem left a policeman moderately injured on Tuesday.
Initial reports suggest an Arab terrorist armed with a knife began to attack Israeli Border Police officers operating at Herod’s Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem. The attacker, who was later identified as a tourist from Turkey, was shot and killed after he managed to stab a police officer.
Magen David Adom first responder Benny Liebskind described to Artuz Sheva what he encountered when arriving at the scene.
“We joined the police teams at the scene, saw a 30 year old male who was fully conscious with stab wounds to his upper body. We treated him, and he was evacuated to a hospital in moderate condition,” he said.
Following the attack, a significant number of police forces were deployed to the area, and all entrances to the Temple Mount were closed as a security precaution.
