Legendary boxing champion Floyd Mayweather has just begun his trip to Israel in a demonstration of his strong support for the country amidst a global rise in antisemitism.

Mayweather’s first stop on Monday night was at the Aish World Center in Jerusalem where he participated in celebrations for the Jewish month of Adar. Wearing a hat and a necklace each featuring the Star of David, the boxing icon drew enthusiastic cheers after he started singing some Hebrew songs.

During the festivities, Mayweather was honored with the Champion For Israel Award. This prestigious accolade is in recognition of advocacy against antisemitism and support for Israel.

Aish CEO Rabbi Steven Burg praised Mayweather’s ongoing efforts to stand against antisemitism.

“Mr. Mayweather has never ceased inspiring others to embrace positivity and take a stand against antisemitism and all forms of hate,” Rabbi Burg stated.

Mayweather has been an especially strong advocate for Israel following the Oct 7 Hamas massacre. Days after the attack, the boxer’s jet touched down in the Jewish State, loaded with over 5,000 lbs. of supplies for Israeli civilians and military.
