A respected British rabbi faced a shocking display of antisemitic intimidation during a recent visit to the Bilal Mosque in Manchester.

Viral footage shows Rabbi Arnold Saunders, who is running for Britain’s Tory Conservative Party in Bury South, being harassed by an aggressive Arab who disgracefully said the rabbi “smiles like a snake” and supports the murder of children in Gaza.

“Don’t come to the house of Allah and try to engage with us when we know that when you’re in your own places you’re saying it is good that they kill the children,” the unidentified Arab yells. “We don’t want to engage with you people, we don’t want to engage with you justifiers of child killers.”

Despite the protection of Mosque stewards, the man continued his tirade claiming that Rabbi Saunders hated Arabs and only feigned acceptance of Muslim immigration when in their presence.

In response, the Bilal Mosque issued a halfhearted apology.

“The Rabbi was a guest of the mosque, and he was treated inappropriately and disrespectfully. We regret what has happened. This incident is not reflective of the congregation of the mosque or the Muslim community in Bury.”

Despite the horrendous treatment he received, Rabbi Saunders took the high road when speaking to the Telegraph stating he was “feeling fine” and generally treated with respect from the 500 worshippers who attended the meet and greet event.

“Obviously the video looks quite bad, but I think it looks worse than it was – at no point was I threatened,” he said. “I was treated with great respect and courtesy and it only came from one guy egged on by a couple of others.”
