The United States is working with allies on a coordinated response to Iran’s recent suicide drone and missile strikes on Israeli soil.

“In the coming days, the United States will impose new sanctions targeting Iran, including its missile and drone program, as well as new sanctions against entities supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran’s Defense Ministry,” said National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Sullivan, new sanctions will target entities supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iran’s Defense Ministry. In addition, the US plans to enhance air and missile defense integration and early warning systems across the Middle East.

“These new sanctions and other measures will continue a steady drumbeat of pressure to contain and degrade Iran’s military capacity and effectiveness and confront the full range of its problematic behaviors,” he said.

Over the last three years, the US has sanctioned over 600 individuals and entities linked to Iranian terrorism. It has targeted those involved in terrorism, financing terrorism, illegal trading, serious human rights violations, and supporting Iranian proxy terrorist organizations like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
