An Israeli airstrike in south Lebanon on Tuesday killed a top Hezbollah commander responsible for numerous attacks against Israel.

As per the  Israel Defense Forces (IDF), an airstrike targeted a car in Ain Ebel on the Israel-Lebanon border that killed Ismail Yusaf Baz, a commander of Hezbollah’s coastal sector. Baz was a senior figure within the terror organization, involved in orchestrating rocket and anti-tank missile launches towards Israel.

Baz’s death came as part of a broader IDF military response to Hezbollah’s escalated rocket strikes since the war in Gaza broke out in October. Lebanon’s state-run ANI News Agency reports additional Israeli air strikes in other towns in southern Lebanon, including Ain Baal and Shihabiya. Hezbollah, in response, sent drones loaded with explosives late Tuesday night toward northern Israel, setting off alarms in the area.

Yesterday, Hezbollah’s attack drones breached Israeli airspace, striking Moshav Beit Hillel in the northern part of the country and injuring three individuals. On Saturday, the terror group launched over a hundred rockets into northern Israel, coinciding with Iran’s assault involving approximately 300 missiles and drones aimed at the Jewish state.
