A video circulating on social media offers a glimpse into the prison cell of members from Hamas’s elite al-Qassam Brigades’ Nukba terror unit, who infiltrated Israel and were captured on October 7. In the video, a terrorist is seen lying on the floor while the song ‘Am Yisrael Chai’ (The Nation of Israel Lives) by Jewish singer Avraham Fried plays continuously in the background.
On October 7th, 2023, Israel was subjected to a severe assault as Hamas terrorists breached the Gaza security barrier, initiating a comprehensive attack utilizing tractors, explosives, and rocket fire. Approximately 1,500 terrorists entered southern Israel, employing various methods including paragliders and maritime infiltration, and targeted Israeli towns and military bases. This brutal attack led to a massacre, with terrorists causing the deaths of over 1,300 civilians and the abduction of more than 230 individuals. Following a temporary ceasefire, 105 civilians were released from Hamas captivity, with an estimated 134 still remaining in Gaza.
The conflict between Hamas and Israel has reached its 136th day. The IDF has reported the loss of 235 soldiers, with the most recent casualty being Staff Sgt. Simon Shlomov, 20, from the Paratroopers Brigade’s 202nd Battalion. On the other side, a Hamas official based in Qatar informed Reuters that the group estimates its losses at around 6,000 fighters since the war began.
