The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) held a series of drills this week to simulate a potential full-scale war with Hezbollah.

As per the IDF, the Northern Command and Computer Service Directorate have been simulating ground and cyberspace maneuvers against Hezbollah targets, and the 282nd Artillery Regiment carried out emergency response drills. In addition, the Alpinist Unit “practiced their operational mission while preparing for complex combat in urban areas,” and the Bashan Regional Division simulated “a variety of scenarios in Lebanon and Syria simultaneously.”

Tensions on Israel’s northern border are continuing to rise. On Tuesday, two drones originating from Lebanon detonated in the Beit Hillel region of the Galilee, resulting in minor injuries to three Israelis. During this airspace breach, no alarms or warning sirens were reportedly triggered.

On Monday, four soldiers, including members from the Golani Brigade and the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit, sustained injuries from an explosion on the Lebanese border. One of the soldiers is reportedly in serious condition and Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the blast, according to the IDF statement.

With fear mounting that Iran may take advantage of its Hezbollah proxy in any future major attack, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari announced on Saturday that the military is taking no chances with Iran’s puppet.

“We are continuing to attack and damage Hezbollah’s deployment in southern Lebanon. The area of southern Lebanon will never be the same again,” he said.
