A trove of intelligence on Hamas has been collected following raid by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) into Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, an army spokesperson told Army Radio on Wednesday.

The IDF raid into Gaza’s largest hospital on Monday resulted in the seizure of valuable materials, including IDF documents stolen during the Oct. 7 incursion at the Erez Crossing. A large cache of assets hidden within the hospital were also found at the hospital, including Kalachnikov rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, and Israeli currency.

A total of 350 terrorists were detained in the sweep, many of whom surrendered without resistance. The influx of intelligence has been instrumental in mapping out enemy positions and identifying Hamas communication networks, said the army spokesperson.

Some 90 terrorists were killed in the operation, including Fa’ak Mabhouh, the head of the Hamas Internal Security Operations department. Israeli forces also suffered losses, with the deaths of reservist Warrant Officer Sebastian Haion (51), a commander in the 401st brigade, and Staff Sgt. Matan Vinogradov (20) of Nahal’s 932nd Battalion.
