Antisemitic crimes in New York City spiked in March, reversing a month-by-month decline of these crimes recorded by the NYPD, reports New York Jewish Week.

With 43 antisemitic incidents reported in the NYC metropolitan area in March, this figure more than doubles the amount from February, marking the highest monthly count this calendar year.

Following the Hamas massacre in southern Israel on Oct. 7, there was a surge in antisemitic incidents in NYC, peaking at 69 in October and 62 in November. These numbers dropped to 31 in December and January, then to 17 in February.

Recent incidents of antisemitism in NYC included two attacks on a kosher restaurant within four days, as per Arutz Sheva.

Last week, thousands of anti-Israel protesters descended on Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan ahead of President Joe Biden’s campaign fundraiser. As per Axios, some interrupted the event a few times, and in one instance, Biden was called a “war criminal.” Former President Barack Obama defended his former vice president, noting the challenges of navigating the world’s complexities while maintaining “moral clarity.”
