Turkey Says Israel Will Pay for Death of Hamas Leader’s Sons

Turkish President Erdogan has sent condolences to Hamas leader Haniyeh over Israel’s killing of his three sons, saying it will be held accountable for its ‘crimes against humanity,’ the Turkish Communications Directorate announced on Wednesday.

Erdogan, who has close ties with the Hamas terror leader, has taken a harsh stand against the Jewish State following the Oct. 7 Hamas massacre that claimed 1,200 lives and abducted 240 people back to Gaza.

In a televised speech earlier in the day, Erdogan declared that his country’s trade embargo against Israel would continue until a ceasefire is reached. This week, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade announced a halt in exports to Israel of various items across 54 categories, including essentials like cement, bricks, and jet fuel.

“Israel continues to flagrantly violate international law and ignore the international community. This decision will remain in place until Israel declares a ceasefire immediately and allows an adequate and uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza,” the Turkish trade ministry said in a statement.

Haniyeh’s sons were eliminated by the Israeli Air Force in Gaza on Wednesday as they were attempting to carry out acts of terror. Hebrew-language media reports suggest that the military carried out the airstrike without consulting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or his war cabinet.
